The Ark series explores the tandem balance of life, survival and essentials. In Ice Ark VI  (2021), the base shape is that of a boat in the simplest origami design. It stands to symbolize both function and fragility of icebergs. Icebergs, like nature’s great ark, are necessary to sustain life in the arctic and essentially all life on earth. At the same time, just like paper boats, they can melt into the water and be forever lost when given the wrong environmental conditions. Smaller shapes in bold colors floating within the boat shape reflect life on earth. The overall composition serves as imagery for the saying, “We are all on the same boat”. Similarly, Ark (2017) carries on the theme as it depicts Noah’s ark from the Old Testament, where one ark held all of earth’s land species and ensured the survival of the human race. The Ark series is the artist's response to the ongoing global crisis due to climate change and global warming.
